NIR Radiation in Curing Applications
In UV curing applications requiring deep curing of adhesives and lacquers, radiation in the UV-A and blue (visible) spectral range is used to excite the photoinitiators. Sometimes NIR radiation is used to enhance the viscosity of the adhesives or simply heat it up for better chemistry performance. For quality control and process control a so called NIR radiometer or NIR detectors are beneficial.
Product Description of the RCH-017 Irradiance Detector
The RCH-017 NIR detector was specially developed for use in NIR radiation curing with LEDs. It offers all the features and functions of the RCH high temperature stable and flat design series. Its spectral responsivity covers the spectrally approximately flat near infrared (NIR) wavelength range from 650 nm to 970 nm. The RCH-017 version is based on a flexible fiber design.
Traceable Calibration
The detector is calibrated for typical NIR LED wavelengths in terms of its spectral irradiance responsivity and is supplied with a factory calibration certificate that corresponds to the high standard of the measuring laboratory for optical radiation measurements of Gigahertz-Optik. If necessary, a test certificate accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC17025 can optionally be created for the detector with the associated measuring device.
